We are currently seeking a Accounts Assistant / Contracts Administrator here at Orchard

General:

  • Office based at our head office.

  • Full Time.

  • 8.30-17.00.

  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays with additional 3 days for Christmas shut down.

The Candidate:

  • Highly motivated individual who can organise and prioritise own workload.

  • Have a keen interest in construction and a willingness to learn.

  • Be able to work to tight deadlines and re-schedule their own tasks as required.

  • Good IT, interpersonal and communication skills are essential with the ability to interact with all Stakeholders at differing levels.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

  • Experience of using Sage 50 Accounts.

  • Basic knowledge of VAT and CIS desirable.

  • Experience of the construction industry essential.

  • Some basic knowledge of JCT contracts and their requirements would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Experience of working within a medium group structure highly desirable.

  • Confidentiality is a key trait.

Job Overview:

Day to day tasks will involve the following but there will be additional tasks that may not be listed below. The role is expected to evolve as the candidate displays the required skills and gains more experience within the business:

  • Setting up projects within the groups job costing system.

  • Collating employee expenses for processing (organising receipts in date order etc).

  • Assisting with the groups fortnightly Sub-Contractor Payment run.

  • Reconciliation of supplier statements.

  • Covering the work of others within in the admin/accounts function whilst they are on annual leave.

  • Assisting with the logging and processing of accounts payable items.

  • Assisting the Management Team with administrative duties.

  • Correctly filing invoices within the appropriate folders.

  • Booking accommodation for the best possible rates for long distance projects.

  • Collating information for annual accreditations.
