Orchard were appointed as the Principle Contractor to orchestrate and deliver a project within the heart of Soho. The design brief was to combine 3 completely different buildings into 1 fluid working environment. The 3 buildings (totalling 9400 sq ft) with limited access through one single shop front entrance, would be brought together with the installation of a new central stair and lift core and structural glazed roof. The project (a logistical challenge) involved the demolition of the existing courtyard building (the central of the three) then substantial groundworks, structural steel and bespoke finishes. The completed project harmoniously joins the old rear warehouse building to the newly constructed central core with a clever use of materials and junctions.
