Ground Works Progress: Unit 1, Minworth

Orchard Construct has been diligently working on the groundworks at Unit 1, Minworth, and their progress is impressive. Here’s an overview of the key achievements so far:

  1. Expansion of Warehouse Space:

    • The team has successfully infilled the existing dock levellers, significantly increasing the available warehouse space. This modification will enhance operational efficiency and storage capacity.

  2. Advanced Drainage System Installation:

    • A new Q-Max surface water drainage system has been installed, including the addition of two new bypass separators. This system will ensure effective water management, reducing the risk of flooding and maintaining the integrity of the site.

  3. Concrete Hardstandings and Car Parks:

    • New concrete hardstandings and car parks have been constructed, incorporating the necessary infrastructure for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This development supports sustainable transportation and meets modern parking needs.

  4. Retaining Wall and Accessibility Features:

    • To improve accessibility, a retaining wall has been constructed. This wall facilitates an accessible parking area, a cycle store, and a pathway leading to the new entrance. These additions ensure the site is user-friendly and compliant with accessibility standards.

  5. Substation Bases and Cable Pits:

    • Bases for substations and cable pits have been constructed in preparation for a new incoming electricity supply. This groundwork is crucial for supporting the increased electrical demands of the expanded facility.

The team’s hard work and dedication are evident in the substantial progress made so far. Great job, everyone! Keep up the excellent work.
