The comprehensive refurbishment of Unit 1, Valepits, Birmingham, transformed the 59,393 sq ft industrial facility into a modern, energy-efficient asset, delivered in collaboration with JLL and Mileway. The project included the replacement of the existing asbestos roof with high-performance composite roof sheets to improve durability, weather resistance and thermal efficiency, alongside a full mechanical and electrical upgrade featuring energy-efficient LED lighting and electric heating systems. Internal works comprised the refurbishment of office and welfare facilities, the construction of a new WC block with associated drainage, and the installation of a platform lift to enhance accessibility. Safety and compliance were strengthened through the replacement of all fire exit doors with new metal door sets, while external tarmac repairs and minor groundworks improved the site's overall functionality and appearance. The completed refurbishment has significantly enhanced the building's performance, sustainability and occupier appeal, demonstrating the successful collaboration between JLL, Mileway and the project team while reinforcing a commitment to delivering high-quality industrial environments across the UK's logistics and industrial sector.
