Buzz Bingo,Rubery, Birmingham

Rubery, Birmingham – A significant redevelopment project has officially commenced at the former Buzz Bingo premises on Park Way, marking the beginning of a major transformation for the 27,000-square-foot building.

The extensive refurbishment programme will see the vacant site undergo a complete overhaul, preparing it for its next phase of use while modernising both the building and its surrounding infrastructure.

Initial works include the demolition and strip-out of the previous tenant's fit-out, involving the removal of fixtures and fittings, internal partition walls, stairwells, the first-floor mezzanine, the passenger lift, and redundant mechanical and electrical services.

Contractors will also remove existing floor coverings and carry out localised repairs to the concrete floor slab to provide a solid foundation for the redevelopment.

Externally, major structural alterations will create new glazed main entrances, dedicated bulk storage access, and improved fire escape routes. A contemporary glazed entrance canopy will also be installed to enhance the building's appearance and accessibility.

As part of the project's sustainability initiatives, a new photovoltaic (PV) solar panel array will be fitted to the roof alongside a modern fall arrest safety system, helping to improve the building's environmental performance.

The surrounding grounds are also set to benefit from extensive improvements. Existing soft landscaping will be maintained, while hard landscaping works will include upgrades to pathways and a complete rewiring overhaul of the site's existing lighting columns.

Additional infrastructure improvements include an overhaul of the building's existing electrical main supply, installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging points, and the erection of new perimeter fencing and access gates to enhance site security.

The car park will also receive a comprehensive upgrade with new bollards, protective barriers, fresh white lining, and general repair works to improve both safety and functionality.

Overall, the redevelopment represents a substantial investment in one of Rubery's prominent commercial sites and is expected to breathe new life into the former Buzz Bingo building, creating a modern, energy-efficient facility ready for future occupation.

Construction is now underway, with works progressing over the coming months as the landmark building enters its next chapter.
