Unit 1, Valepits, Birmingham

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the comprehensive refurbishment of Unit 1, Valepits, Birmingham, a 59,393 sq ft industrial facility delivered in collaboration with JLL and Mileway.

The project forms part of an ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of industrial assets, ensuring modern occupier requirements are met while extending the lifespan of existing buildings.

The refurbishment programme included the replacement of the existing asbestos roof with new high-performance composite roof sheets, significantly improving the building's durability, weather resistance, and thermal performance.

A full mechanical and electrical upgrade was also undertaken, incorporating energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the facility and the installation of electric heating systems to support improved operational efficiency and reduced energy consumption.

Internally, the existing office accommodation and welfare facilities were refurbished, complemented by the construction of a new WC block complete with associated drainage infrastructure. Accessibility was further enhanced through the installation of a new platform lift, ensuring improved access across the facility.

As part of the building's safety improvements, all fire exit doors were replaced with new metal door sets, delivering enhanced security, compliance, and durability.

External works included targeted tarmac repairs and minor groundworks, improving both the appearance and functionality of the site.

The completed scheme has transformed Unit 1 into a modern, energy-efficient industrial space that is well-positioned to meet the needs of future occupiers. The project reflects the successful collaboration between all parties involved and demonstrates a shared commitment to delivering high-quality industrial environments across the UK logistics and industrial sector.
